QCosmos is neat little screensaver for linux, and is essentially exactly like QStars 0.4 by Andi Peredri. My wife really liked it, but qstars was for QT3 so it wouldn't run. This was my first attempt at programming with QT, and all I really did was rewrite what was needed to use QT4. There is only two changes in functionality from Qstars:
1) The galaxies are randomly placed within a small box near the center of the screen rather than on the whole screen, as the galaxy was placed no where near the planets on very large desktops.
2) The ships are placed randomly anywhere on the screen - it seemed a bit boring to have them pop up in the middle always.

Requirements: Qt 4.x

Installation: qmake
make
make install

Usage: qcosmos -help Show help about options.
qcosmos -setup Setup screen saver.
qcosmos -window-id wid Run in the specified XWindow.
qcosmos -root Run in the root XWindow.
qcosmos -demo Run in the demo mode [default].

Controls: For demo mode only:
UP - increase speed.
DOWN - decrease speed.
RIGHT - new scene.
Q - quit.
