Project: Internet Startup: TrXade Site requirement:
  • Compile requirements, manage workflow, and development team
  • PCI Compliance
  • Server setup and configuration for dev, test and productions sites
  • Implementation Notes: This is one our largest projects ever. The requirements were lengthy. We spent time upfront planning the project, documenting the requirements, then assembled a team of developers. The site is live at this time, and is one of our main ongoing projects adding a long list of new features. Added: February 2011 Project: New Company Basic Site: GoSmart Technologies Site requirements:
    • Build out website from provided template and graphics.
    • Embedded RSS news feeds
    • Functional contact us form
Implementation Notes: This was a quick small project, GoSmart provided the colors, fonts, template and graphics. We just had to assemble the pieces, there wasn't a budget to turn the template to a table-less coding standard so we went with it as it was to meet their budget, as a startup company looking for funding. All told this was a piece of cake. No job is too small. Added 2009 Update 2011, GoSmart came back to us for a site redesign, which is what you see now. We worked with their graphics designer for this. We have built a backend private section that interfaces with their charging units using the Zend Framework, and are currently developing a custom QT application as well. Link: GoSmart Technologies Project: Awakening Artistry E-Commerce Site requirements:
    • Purchasable MP3 downloads
    • integration with online course offerings and auto registration of students (includes forum and user account creation in phpBB3)
    • packaged deals
    • special sales tax districts
    • US Postal service shipping calculator integration
    • Constant Contact API integration (later switched to iContact API)
    • Quickbooks Merchant Account Payment Gateway
    • Quickbooks Web Connector integration for accounting integration of orders
    • Custom theme for store submitted by client
Implemented notes: Awakening Artistry already had an OSCommerce install that was started and needed completed. By 'started' read: a stock install of oscommerce had been done and nothing else. The theme required the front page to be modified to show product categories rather than new products. Product and category images were not all the same size. The checkout process was modified to register customers that ordered online courses automatically, send out specific marketing emails if certain products were purchased and custom sales tax calculations. Project: Top Dawg Aviation E-Commerce Summary: Needed to create PCI compliant e-store for selling model airplanes and accessories. The large model planes created some unique shipping problems that we needed to solve. Site Requirements:
    • Integrate with Fedex shipping calculator (Later changed to a UPS shipping calculator)
    • Support products shipped from 2 warehouses in different parts of the country
    • Support non-standard shipping size containers and multiple boxes for single product: the planes
    • Integrate with Wells Fargo merchant Account
      • Implementation notes: Top Dawg Aviation needed a full featured e-store with shipping options that weren't easy to deal with for most inexpensive e-commerce packages. Coming off our recent success of highly modifying another OS-commerce store and their need for a low budget solution OS-Commerce fit nicely. We had to build a custom fedex shipping module to handle his needs and interface with the new SOAP interface that Fedex was switching to. We added in support for multiple warehouse locations from which products could be shipped from. Also the shipping had to account for both multiple products fitting in 1 box and big products that needed 3 boxes to ship just 1. Shipping is calculated by box sizes and weight. We also needed to integrate aspects of his new store onto his existing website. We were able to add "Add to Cart" buttons on some products pages external from the os-commerce pages, and other integrated buttons for store controls. Link: http://www.topdawgaviation.com/
